Don't You Just Hate...

...when you bid an item, win an item...then the seller does not ship the item?

It is one of those caveat's of buying/selling.  Thanks to great customer service, we have a parachute out of this flaming vessel.  I am very aware that it happens because it happens to me, and quite recently!

Most of the time the seller is very much on top of his/her game and does their best to rectify a missing item or failed delivery.

Then, unfortunately, there is that moment when you have to call in big brother to help you out because not only will the seller not ship the item, but fails to address it in a professional manner.

In my case, the seller shipped three items on one tracking, but only one item in the total shipment delivered.  Usually a package gets assigned a tracking number. That tracking number is not shared among several different items, in different packages.  One tracking # per package!  But I asked the seller anyhow.  Of course, the seller said 'it could be split'.

Horse caca!

I knew then that it was up to me to wait it out, to the final day of the ship deadline to get any satisfaction on this fail.

Here are some tips that one should always follow when making a bid, no matter how close to the wire it is, no matter how cheap the price:
  1. Research the seller's feedback score.  As a rule of thumb, be leery of a selling score under 98.  With all of the seller's on eBay, price is not the only thing that matters.  You want to do business with someone who cares about their reputation.
  2. Check their selling 'habit'.  This translates simply into reading the feedback left by customers.  How does the seller communicate with faulty transactions?  Does the seller try to make the customer whole again?
When you decide to make a purchase, you get the opportunity to do your due diligence.  However, bidding, especially beating the clock is a game of strategy.

As mentioned previously, most of the sellers are committed to building a reputable business. Some however look at sells as a numbers game, willing to dispense a few bad reviews just as long as they continue to be a big enterprise.

At Beauty of Creating, we are not about the sells.  We are about sharing our creativity with the world.  We take pride in the work that we do.  We do not want anyone to think that they 'must' choose us.  We think of your business as a compliment.  We cherish your positive feedback.  If there is anything that displeases you, we hope that you first take a moment to address it with us first.

Additionally, we value our work so much that we see it as a personal piece of our story that traders/buyers get to own for a lifetime.  You have our promise that your dissatisfaction will not go unanswered if we are alive and present!
