My Sibling and My Pal Doll (Boy Doll Review)
Since the first year of our return to designing clothes for dolls, the 18" doll was the cornerstone of our re-launch. Slowly, the girls grew restless without a male companion. We felt it necessary to showcase and build an entire "university co-ed".
For the last year, we searched for the right boy doll. We tried with retailers, and found nothing that peeked our interest. In recent months, the dolls we spied openly on the internet became unavailable with no real anticipation for their return.
We even considered using Journey Girl Dolls and re-imagining them to neutralize their features to more masculine looks. That idea is not completely off of the table.
This final decision was not made out of frustration with retailers, but a movement to support like-minded crafts people, those with a mission for educating children, and support for veterans.
The doll that spoke to me is offered by My Sibling and My Pal. They have a website and featured store front on Facebook and Instagram. I placed an order on Sunday. I posted an initial posting, and a comment on their Instagram location, tagged the owner, who replied. The order delivered today, Thursday!!!
I am so excited, I can barely type this.
Beauty of Creating is proud to sponsor: My Sibling and My Pal Dolls, the My Pal - The Patriot |
I am so proud to sponsor this doll and its affiliates. Trust me, this is just the first of many more to come to my door!
Review:
As you can see from the photos, "the Patriot" is well dressed in camo from head to toe. He wears boots and a grey undershirt. I selected the medium skin/brown eyes/brown wavy hair as the most neutral of all of the seven offered in the My Patriot Collection. He will have a name very soon!!!
He stands at 18" tall, fully dressed, and well packaged on arrival. The doll's eyes close when he is reclined or horizontal. His body is soft and masculine!!! He is not a girl, with short hair rooted wavy hair. He is the best investment by far, in terms of quality, seller mission, and price. He sells for $59. I mean all of that sincerely. Everything that this brand stands for just melts my heart!
The packaging and shipping services are the professional touch of individuals with disabilities. I am so proud of this adventure and that My Sibling is the flagship boy doll.
If you have been searching for a boy doll, why not try MySibling/MyPal. The quality is stellar, the mission is sure to win your heart!
Beauty of Creating will strive to uphold the values represented here by My Sibling Dolls. Stay tuned as this marvelous creation inspires our team to deliver some top flight gear, coming your way soon!!!

Designed in Spring 2016, this ensemble started as a OOAK, but
its popularity and researching the chintz print fabric
used to design the pants,

we were able to create additional ensembles.

Brother VX-950 Review
I received this wonderful gift for my 48th birthday. Those who follow my blog, you know that I gifted two of the first three machines I ever owned (Singer 247 & JCP 7064). Additionally, you know that I currently have in production two sewing machines (Brother XL3200 & Viking Emerald 183) along with two serger/overlock.
Not one machine failed me. With minor maintenance: required needle/bobbin, bulb change, dusting, oiling, and covering, they keep rolling right along, humming that precision tune.
My latest gift, an estimated 25+ year old Brother VX-950 deserves an ovation.
It is essentially the marriage and best features of all of the machines I ever owned. Like the Singer 247, it is heavy duty, and I mean heavy. I know that the parts are steel and thus durable. Though smaller in size than the Emerald 183, this gal is sturdy and heavier...go figure!
Anxious like it's Christmas, I removed the machine and plugged it in, searching for its maintenance page in the owner's manual. All machines require maintenance between use. Even if it has not been in production for years, it still requires the same love as if it was regularly stamping out garments several times per week!
As you can see it has a boatload of stitches and for a dated model, quite similar to my JCP 7064, i.e. a reverse stitch button, and electronic digital display that provides a 'cheat sheet' to operate the indicated stitch on the dial.
What I needed to get started: oiled its required parts, adjusted the upper thread/bobbin tensions, and changed its needle...then off it went!!!
I absolutely love this machine. I am so unbelievably grateful for this gift. The universe has conspired to gift me with such a wonder and I will cherish it always!
If you own a similar model, and you have some questions about it or you saw one and wondered more about its operations, leave me a message below and I will return your question a.s.a.p.

A new machine in production...
Yesterday, I participated in a 'chopped' vegan-style dinner party. The menu included: a fabulous host family, a beautiful home, great conversation, and some amazing food. By the end...I received a special gift and I think I am in love with it already...
Before I share it with you, here is a replay on the festivities!
Without further adieu...my "classically trained" Brother VX-950! It comes with its original owner's manual, barely used, and the tools are still in their factory sealed plastic bag. Unbelievably blessed! Thanks to the Henry's!
Before I share it with you, here is a replay on the festivities!

Happy New Year 2018
By the end of one year, and the ushering in of a new,
we often find ourselves making resolutions, some we keep, and
others that are quickly discarded, then we feel guilty for our
broken promises.
But if we are subscribing to our visions and
believing God for His promise to see His purpose
for our life be fulfilled...
we are blessed!
Each one of us has a purpose, a special assignment that
God calls upon us and peace within the universe
opens wide, pouring an overflow of blessings into our lives
as a result of answering that call.
In 2018, let us work towards our purpose, our calling
and watch the blessings unfold!
"Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it". Habukkuk 2:2, KJB.
"For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope". Jeremiah 29:11, NIV.
With your vision and God's will, you are unstoppable; what He has for you, is for you.
Happy New Year 2018!
