BOC Doll Inspiration 60713 from McCall's 7757

this Beauty of Creating #BOC60713 doll inspiration
comes courtesy of McCall's #7757

Our Doll Mod: Journey Girl Mandolyn aka "Mandy"

***

The top is originally from #BOC40210 Off-Shoulder Series

We liked the top but added an additional row of ruffles.
For the bottom, we went straight to the design table to graph
an entirely new pair of pants with pockets.
Maintaining most of the original,we kept the flare leg,
but raised the hem to form capri's to showcase shoes!

***

The struggle to complete this outfit with shoes, was real!  There are so many colors in the bouquets beset on the fabric that everything and nothing looked perfect!  Mandy has beautiful blushing sun-kissed tones to her skin so we focused on pinks and buff yellow!

This outfit and many more from our design table
will arrive shortly at our eBay location!

Trivia:  How does Beauty of Creating numerate their patterns? Write your answer below for a chance to win this outfit!

Toys R Us...up to 50% off

The liquidation continues.  I went into my local store and I promise you that if there was no prior knowledge of a store closing you would think it was a typical shopping day--you could count the people in there.  The shelves were bulging with toys and the sales did not amount to anything close to 40%.

And here we are today, receiving an email that the liquidation clearance rises to 50% off.

With that said, if there is a liquidation going on, someone needs to tell Toys "R" Us stores, namely the one in Ann Arbor.

I did notice that Journey Girl Dolls returned, and are following the online 30% off.  I am so disappointed that this sale started the day after my courtesy expired.

I will check back sometime in the next two weeks.  But right now, they have a long way to go to even think they will have buyers inside.

Behind the Scenes...

How did I achieve Kyla's hairstyle in the 2017 Dolliday Photo Shoot?

Beauty of Creating, presents Journey Girl "Kyla"
for the 2017 Dolliday Promo Card Cover themed Pajama Jam 2017.
Kyla is wearing a white flannel nightshirt in Christmas Village print,
candy cane stripe fuzzy fleece slouch socks,
while holding a silver bell Christmas ornament.

While preparing the schematics for pattern selections, pattern designs, and of course sewing/fitting our beautiful Journey Girls for the event, Kyla was in great need of a quick updo!

I did not want curls so big and perfect that they took away from a relaxed themed "Pajama Jam".  Instead, I opted for a quick bantu knot set, sprayed with peppermint water, and made about 12-15 bantu knots, securing them with bobby pins.

After a few hours, I released the pins, let the curls fall naturally, then whisked them up into a loose relaxed ponytail! This signature look of huge soft spirals only took about 20 minutes to set, maybe 4 hours to dry!
