Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul, 1942-2018 |
I could not get it together to get moving after being awake since 4:30 a.m. so around the time I heard the news of her passing, I called the day as well as over, at least for outside tasks.
Instead, worked on the Goodfellow Doll Program donation dolls and listened to her effortless voice belt out through YouTube videos, Rhapsody, and Pluto music stations. She has so many and these gifts she leaves behind could comfort us for days without repeating a single one.
God had a plan for little Aretha and nothing stood in His way of delivering her to us. I know I will cherish her as always. Her triumphs over adversity are truly a teaching moment to us all. She stated that music was her thing. As many artists dedicate their entire life to their craft, I am certain to be inspired by her to hopefully leave a legacy worth mentioning when I am gone.
Thank you Aretha! Thank you God! and My condolences to her family and close friends.
