With the last days of summer upon us, there is no better time than to celebrate with a seasonal sale!

New Beauty of Creating Store - where, what, and why

By now our loyal friends and newbies have discovered that we are more than just a seller, but have reopened our Beauty of Creating store at eBay.

Currently we are clearing the dust, while adding newer listings every day.  As also add new listings, we are also carefully updating older listings and transforming our "categories" panel to organize listings so that visitors can better locate items.  Most of the tabs are pretty much easy to explain, i.e. spring/summer, shoes/boots, 18" doll career/costume.  

But if you notice there is also a tab called: Creating1Collection. This collection features all of our 'inspired by' items or garments that were literally our interpretation of a commercial pattern/outfit including the designer.  We want to always give a shout out and acknowledge those when we can, who boost our creativity.

The wonderful thing about having a store is that we get a chance to push our creativity even farther and not have to wait for the season to arrive to showcase our collections.  Most of the time you will see our biggest influx 'in season', because I live in Michigan and the craft barns follow a seasonal movement of inventory.  However, whatever inspires us to create, given that we have the fabric in-house, then we will gladly make use of our space to showcase it for you!

Currently we have concluded most of agenda for Spring/Summer 2018, with the exception of some seasonal cooler textured sleepwear.  We had a lot to showcase for you.  As we transition into Fall 2018 we may push out some warmer textures for sleepwear as well.

Although we did open a store, which provides even more space to grow into, we also do not want to waste space by making things too scattered around.  Therefore, the pull-down menus of 'like' items still exist.  This also helps customers with their search because we simply cannot cross-reference more than two features in each listing.  For example:  School uniforms are currently tabbed on: 18" Doll Career/Costume & School.  Considering they are often seasonal buys they could be considered "seasonal".  Additionally they could be considered "B.O.C. Purses/Handbags" or "Shoes" because after all, these items are also included in a uniform listing. Our school uniforms is one of our largest planned collections and it needs to easy to locate!

In the meantime, stop in and shop 24 hours a day, and inquire about our VIP Special that is currently $25 minimum purchase that rewards you up to 30% off of future purchases.  Originally $75, we want to make everyone welcome to start now and enjoy all of the goodies that you can!

#TBT August - a New Chapter

On this Throwback Thursday, the first one in August, we reflect on the blessings the year has brought us and celebrate the end of a school year and the auspice of a new one!

Inspired by MimiG

One year ago, style maiden MimiG shared a diy pattern with her youtube subscribers titled "sack pants drop crotch tutorial".  Her generosity inspired me to give it ago for Journey Girls.

I was not sure it would work, but I am a risk taker when it comes to designing.  The biggest challenge was trying a fabric that would work and making the pattern big enough to make adjustments, which is typical in my design process.  It is much easier to go big and reduce than add-on.

I used newspaper for this diy and followed this tutorial starting with a pair of leggings just as Mimi suggested.  These leggings I used derived from my BOC #40404 Just Leggings pattern and extended the pattern to include these new drop sack pants.
